Editing Photos

I am going to tell you about some of my favorite photo editing sites!

Picnik
Here is the link to picnik!! :) http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome

That is what it should look like when you go to the site.  This site is very fun, and also one of the first photo editors I every have used.  I really enjoy using this one, it has simple yet cool effects and stickers.  I use a premium account, but the regular account has fun stuff too.

This is an effect called Lomo-ish.  It is one of my favorite effects, and this picture is just an example picture that they had on the website.  You can play around with them, it is fun to see which effects look good together.  They also have cool stickers, like sports, hearts, and lots of other stuff.  You can also add text, so for this picture you could put something like "off to the market!" There are lots of things you can play around with.  Picnik is my favorite photo editor.

Foto Flexer

This is what it should look like when you get on the website at first, it should look very plain, there is not much on the screen.  Once you upload the picture you have so many options, there are a lot of effects on this one too!!

Here is a picture that I took of a flower, this one has no effect, because I didn't like the effects on it.  If I looked harder I could probably find one but I was in a rush, so I am not going to.  One thing I don't like about this photo editor is that when you add text, you have to have a box around it, you can switch the color.  I think that picnik has better text.

Pixlr

Here is another one of my favorite photo editing sites it is Pixlr http://pixlr.com/o-matic/

This is what it should look like when you get on the website, then you upload your pictures on it.  I do not use this one very much, but it is fun.  It has no text on it so, you would have to add the text on a different editing site.

Here is what it will look like when you get your photo on it, this is a sample picture on the effect Ivan.  Then after you pick your effect you get to move on and the next step is where you kind of choose like a background thing.  Then you get to choose a border.  Then your picture is complete.

International Dot Day!

Today is International Dot Day- Leave your mark on the World.  Today is a fun day about leaving your mark on the world.  This day is inspired by the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds.  I think that this is fun!  Today anyone 6-12 can make a dot in the art room!! I am very excited to be a part of this!
Here is one of the the posters we are going to put up! Most of our posters are very colorful and bright!

This dot is outside of the library, and it says Make your mark on the World.  This is like my favorite dot, it is a neon orange, and splatter painted.  (Sorry it is kind of blurry)

Here are 3 of of our big posters which are going around the school, they are very colorful and fun like the candy dits you see below.

Here is the Dots that Mrs. Miller had in her office, she had tons of box's from them.

Here is Ellie and I's projet (Ellie's birthday was yesterday so shout out to her, she is now a teenager!)  Our project is made of used tape rolls, with paper that is painted over top and DOT written down it.

This has been a very fun Dot Day!  We have seen a lot of dots, and it has been a blast!  What a fun Dot Day!  We are excited for next year and hopefully the celebrations are bigger! :)

Water Rockets

In Industrial Tech we just finished working on water rockets!  It was a very fun unit.  It was very enjoyable.  In this unit we were told what we had to do, and then we figured out how to do it.  You got to choose how to put the wings, and the paper.  Here is a picture of Alex and mine.

Alex and mine was very colorful, like tie die.  We named it Dynamite Explosion.  I don't know why we picked that, because it looks more like a rainbow and firework explosion.  We had three small fins, so it would be less for the air to get caught on and slow it down.  You could say we had pretty good aerodynamics.  Ours went pretty high pretty fast!  This was a very fun unit, I enjoyed it a lot!

Volleyball Game! :)

Last night was our first Jr. High volleyball game! I was so happy, I started!  I played in the first 3 games, and sat out in the last one.  I loved playing, one time I served, and I got to serve like 10 times in a row.  We all rotate to all the positions.  I like playing in the middle front the best, which is where I started.  The eighth graders won too!  Good job dawgs!  All of you did great

Bo

Bo is my dog and I love him so much!  He can be naughty, but I know he doesn't mean too.  He always wants the attention on him, and he thinks the world revolves around him.  I don't think he realizes that he is different than humans.  Him and I get along very well! He is like my baby, he sometimes sleeps with me, but there is other people in the house.  I love him so much, and he want to protect me and I want to protect him.

Those are all pictures of him when he was a little baby, in the first one he was walking around in our house.  He was a very small baby.  In the second one is him and I, when he was a very little baby.  The third is just a close up picture of him when he was little.  In the last one he was sleeping in between our cabinets, and the floor.  He was so small, and cute.

These are pictures of him that I have taken recently.  He has grown a lot bigger, and he is about a year and a half old.  He is still adorable to me.  The best picture of him is the middle one.  I really enjoy doing things with him, like taking walks, and going to the park.  He doesn't understand the concept of fetch, he will go get it, and then go lay down.  He knows a lot of tricks, like sit, down, beg, catch, hug, stay, and crawl.  He is very good dog when he is calm, and I will always love him.

TV Shows

Here are some of my favorite TV series which, I think are very good.  I would recommend them to anyone (if the right age).  My friends, family, and me watch these.  Here are some quick overviews of them!

Pretty Little Liars
This is my favorite show right now, it is about 4 girls and their best friend Ali goes missing.  They find her body, and ever since they have been getting creepy messages.  The messages are things about only things that their best friend Ali knows, and the creepy part is they are all sign -A.  The show has a lot of trying to find the killer and who -A is.  This is a very scary show, but very good.

The Lying Game
This is a show about two girls who live with foster parents, and then one is doing research on her true family, and she figures out she has a twin.  The video chat, and then one gets in trouble, so she runs away.  When she meets her twin at the bus stop, she says I am going to find our real mother, and I need you to take my place.  Then she is gone longer than she is supposed to be, they have no clue what happened to her.  This show is a lot like Pretty Little Liars, suspenseful, and very scary but good.

Americas Got Talent
This is a great family show, it is great for all ages.  It is kind of like American Idol, but you can do anything there is singers, dancers, comedians, magician, and even things you have never seen before.  If you have never watched this I would not start this season, because the finale is this week.  I would wait until next season.  You could watch it but you wouldn't be attached to any of the acts, or wouldn't really understand.  If you watch from the beginning, then you will get to watch auditions, which is my favorite part because there is really good acts, but there is also really bad ones.  The judges are Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne, and Piers Morgan.  I would recommend this show to any family.

Survivor
This is another family show, my family and I have watched this show since I was little.  I really like it is where 18 people go out to an island on to teams, for 40 days, and who ever is the last one standing wins.  They get voted out, and then they are out of the game, unless you last until the merge which is when both teams combine.  Then they become the jury, and they vote who wins the game.  There is challenges, and lots of drama.  The winner of the whole game gets 1 million dollars.  This is one of my favorite shows of all time!  The new season is on September 14th!

Hawkeye Game

I am a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan!  I have been since I was little, and I know just about all the main players.  Today they are playing Tennessee Tech.  I don't know much about Tennessee Tech but I know that I want the Hawks to win.  I don't hate Iowa State but when they play Iowa I want Iowa to win.  I like all the Hawkeye sports I like watching their men and women's basketball.  I like everything Hawkeye.  Let's go Hawks, and have a great season!

The Gingerbread Man Lost in the School

Today I helped Mrs. Miller with the second grade students.  We had a QR Code hunt, where we went all around to different QR Codes and when we scanned the QR Codes pictures of different teachers popped up! Here are some pictures!
Here is Mrs. Miller explaining how to use the Ipod Touchs, and the kids are very excited about                   using them.  We were showing them how to use them!

Here is the book we based it off of.  This gingerbread man goes around the school! Very cute book!

Here is what the QR codes looked like, the kids had fun scanning them and using the Ipod Touchs.  The helpers had a lot of fun helping, the kids were fun to work with once you got them settled down.

Here is Mrs. Miller, the kids, the Ipod Touchs and the book.  Everyone had such a good time!

Game Day

Today is game day here at VM.  We are all so excited and we like to dress in all blue and white on Fridays.  We love sporting events here at VM.  Here is Alissa, Emma, and Me (from left to right) we are so happy!  A bunch of me and my friends all ride together to the game which is in Pella Christian tonight!  GO DAWGS!! :)

In this picture is Emma and me!

Volleyball

Volleyball just started about two weeks ago, and our first game is on Thursday, a week from today.  I am super excited and really like volleyball.  It isn't my favorite sport but it is super fun, and I think that all girls should try it.  After you understand the basics it is super easy and enjoyable! A lot of my friends play too, so that makes it very fun, even if my friends weren't playing I still would. I think all girls should give it a try. Also here is a shout out to one of my bffs Alex R. Love you!
